The Sapphire Scholarship
With the belief that education is the key to a healthier future of babies, Cameron’s Light Foundation sponsors scholarships annually for students entering college. The Sapphire Scholarship is a unique scholarship awarded annually to one graduating high school senior, born preterm, in honor of their resilience in defying the odds of premature birth. The Sapphire Scholarship was established in honor of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) graduates and the healthcare professionals who work diligently towards healthy outcomes for prematurely born children. It is our hope that our contribution to the future of healthcare will lead to healthier families and children and fewer infant deaths.
The Sapphire Scholarship application will open to all qualifying students February 2020.

The sapphire signifies the height of celestial hope and faith. It is a symbol of power and strength. Preemies face unfathomable threats to their chances of life every day — from the very day they are born. It is incredible to see them grow and go on to live full lives. With the Sapphire Scholarship, we want to acknowledge their strength and resilience in overcoming the odds that were stacked against them.
